Lately:
I’ve been working out how to use my new keyboard. It makes some pretty great sounds and I can even sort of play it properly, which is weird. I started this song in A minor and went to a D minor chord, then suddenly I hit A# major and it was all like ‘WHOA KEY CHANGE BUT NOT REALLY.’ It even sounded good and everything. I’m still a bit stuck on what sort of music to actually play on it, but I have a few ideas.
Oh, and I took out some books on poetry because I was all like ‘what’s that about hey?’ It seems pretty cool, although complicated also.
And my lame job at the bottle-o isn’t as lame as it could be. I still have to wear a comically over-sized uniform and pretend to care about wine, but I can relax a bit because (like everyone else in the organisation) I have given up trying to do things properly.
OK, now I got to call the blood bank because I got some to spare. Y’all have a good day now.

Sorry. I’m really bored today so I’m hassling you a lot. But here is a poem.
“Instructions to a Princess”
it is like the plot of an ol
novel. yr mother comes down
from the attic at midnite & tries
on weird hats. i sit in my study
the secret inside me. i deal it
choice pieces of my heart. down
in the village they gossip abt
the new bride.
i have been saving all this
love for you my dear. if my
house burns down, open my face
& you will be amazed

See that makes no frickin sense! That’s why I have to read this book about poetry. Maybe then I’ll get it.

Maybe you’re the wrong blood type for this poem.

You mean you have to be black to understand it? Hmm….

The “old novel” is Jane Eyre. And no, you
don’t have to be black.
