That line between everyday villainy and cartoonish super-villainy

I WILL EAT YOUR UNHAPPINESS!!

“I’ve actually read in The Daily Telegraph where a certain imam from the Lakemba mosque actually said that Australia’s going to be a Muslim nation in 50 years’ time. I didn’t believe him at the time, but you know when you actually look at the birth rates and when you look at the fact that we are aborting ourselves almost out of existence by 100,000 abortions every year - and that’s on a guesstimate. You multiply that by 50 years, that’s five million potential Australians we won’t have here.”

~Danna Vale MP, on why abortion pill RU486 should continue to be banned.

  1. There’s just so many things wrong with that quote. The fact that she has MP after her name nicely sums up everything that’s wrong with this country.
Oh dear, guess I’ll just go and eat my uterus out [ewwwwwwwwwww].

  2. And…

    Yay, abortions for everyone!

[note to self must go out, get preggers in v v Bridget Jones style, have abort. to prove pollies right about feckless infant-hating femo-nazi generation, or some such] [abortion clearly the new handbag puppy] [bet Gucci has a bag for that] [must must have one just to mess up birthrate] [abortion that is, not handbag] [crap, wonder if cost of abortion would buy beautiful bag?] [might forego plan A and just buy bag instead] [can’t really see why all this deliberate knocking up/aborting is going on really. would rather just buy bag. or vodka.] [possibly both bag and vodka]

  3. Haw haw. I think you spend too much time thinking about handbags and puppydogs and too little time thinking about the consequences of your wicked modern lifestyle.

  4. That is probably the supidest thing I’ve heard all year so far. They’re not even supposed to be talking about whether abortion was OK or not. They’re supposed to be talking about whether RU486 is OK or not, thems silly MPs. If they were in an exam they’d get no marks because they read the question wrong.

Anyway, you have to tell me what book to read.

  5. What consequences? I thought the only consequence of unplanned celibacy was sexual frustration…

Now if we were talking starving orphans, the environment, or using too much water, well, guilt city.

  7. Clare - Well it’s hard to talk about RU486 scientifically when you’re a politician and not a scientist (funny that) but I can forgive them for making it about something else, since it’s more interesting that way. Will tell you a book in the next post.

Nails - ‘unplanned celibacy’: euphemism of the week!

Chuffed - I’ll admit I photoshopped the tooth out, but apart from that the image is untainted :P
