It was bloody expensive, mind you.
Mahurmufurgenblerg. Blaherbermfnf. Yeth, I have been to the dentitht. They did thum fillingth and now my mouth ith numb all over. Tho ith my shin. Er, chin.
It was kinda cool actually. You know how I love anything medical and invasive, especially giving blood, but also trips to the dentist or the doctor. There is a great combination of a) people giving me attention b) uncomfortable poking and prodding c) the very slight chance that something will go wrong. A lot of people would shy away from those things, but to me they are just FUN. Now my mouth is numb I’ve been poking it a bit and laughing because of how cool it feels (or, rather, doesn’t feel). I don’t like my chances of having a conversation without biting my tongue off, though. Might stay in tonight.

Hahaha! I like that! The other day we were talking about extreme sports at work:
Me: “Yeah, i’ve been skydiving”
She: “Oh- i could NEVER do that. I just think I would be the one to die!”
Me: “Yeah. I thought i would die, too”
[pause]
Me: “But i just didn’t care”
Gotta love the CAN-DO attitude!!!

I too love to go to the dentist! Then again, my dentist just so happens to be my older sister, and we’d get into these routinely silly fights where i usually act like a brat and then she jet-sprays my gums until i cry. Good times!
n.b. careful with that poking your numb chin thing - i did that once - pinching it actually, such fun it was - and the next day, i ended up having tiny bruises all over. It looked like i had a Bad Shaving Experience. Not exactly the look i usually go for.

When I was a kid, one of my friend’s sisters went to the dentist and after it was through, decided to have a chew on her bottom lip. Yes, a chew. She basically bit straight through it and blood spurted everywhere, because she couldn’t feel a thing. Woah!

Lee - Exactly wot I’m on about. Self-preservation is an outmoded instinct in our society ;)
V - your sister sounds fun. Thx for the poking advice. I didn’t poke very hard in the end, and there bits that still hurt whenever I accidentally bit my toungue.
T - Great story. You’d have to be a bit dumb though, wouldn’t you? Like ‘I’m just going to chew quite hard on a little bit of myself… nothing could go wrong with that, could it?’

gah, I hate all the things mentioned int his blog. I got goosebumps reading about the pain and the needles and the prodding. Surely there is a better way to do things? This is why I hate dentists - even if I have nothing that needs fixing, I still have to sit in that damn chair and feel the anxiety, it’s just as bad as if I was getting a filling. Oh god I feel ill.

Wow. You are one super-sensitive individual. Um, sorry?
