diving / planning Sydney Adventure No. III

Some diving photos from the weekend are on Flickr. We took the boat out to Rottnest Island dived on (I think) Crystal Palace and the the wreck of the Lady Elizabeth. The first dive was a bit crap - we were supposed to find a cave in a big rock wall, but we must have missed it. The second was great though, with bright, clear water and and lots of neat caves to bang your head in. The wreck was just a jumble of weird shapes covered in seaweed, but it was still pretty interesting. Oh, and the day was brilliant. Warm but not hot, with very little wind or swell.

I’m packing up my stuff now, to move out and head to Sydney. I’m enjoying it. Specifically, I’m enjoying: a) throwing a lot of crap out b) spending the day moving and sorting instead of reading and typing like I usually do c) getting on the road again - moving to a new place by yourself can be a hassle, but it’s still kinda fun. So, while I’m not looking forward to trusting removalists with my stuff or having to sleep on a bunk at a backpackers (maybe I should splash out and get a double? am I worth it?) I am looking forward to the trip. Plus the hanging out with James and Glen, and maybe even partying with Misha. Yeah. I’m so into it now I might even buy a plane ticket.

I wonder if any of those guys can dive?

  4. James - yep. Soonish.

Nails - And you travel how often?

Julia - Yep, the climate here is just about perfect. We could do with some more ozone, but that’s cool.

  5. why did this only come up in my rss feed reader today? wtf

npb is waiting for your support before going out for beers.

i believe it is time to organise and launch a happy blog friends blogger meet up that involves less funny killing (happy tree friends) and more happy drinking (and no boring politics schmoozing).

  6. Sydney rent = travel is out of the financial question. Otherwise, the very very very very long distance to my parent’s house which is at the other end of the country.

Support? No. I was under the impression that I would need a translater… I was kinda up for the funny killing though :(

  12. Hey, I’m not a student anymore, two days off a week is pretty normal. It’s just that when I do work I work annoying and frequently changed hours [ie non-standard] which makes weeknights in general quite useless for meeting people.

Great, so you have bogan and jargon as your main languages… I only have English .

  13. Nails - Glen is pretty comprehensible, I find. I think he just loads his blog with jargon to sound like more of a man.
