Bad luck? No, just common stupidity.
Advice: when you lose your wallet, make sure you cancel the right credit card. Otherwise, when you grab the backup card and go to get some weekend cash, the machine will eat it and a) you will be stuck with no money at all b) you will suddenly realise that someone might have been stealing from your credit card for more than 12 hours. Or, in my case, replace ‘your credit card’ with ‘your mum’s emergency-only stuck-in-a-foreign-country credit card.’ Crap! At least the wallet turned up safe.
Also, I bought a ukelele. It sucks so badly though. I have never returned anything ever, but I’m going to give it a try with this. There’s a lesson to be learned, kids: a cheap uke will make you puke. Or something.

Sounds like something I would do. I mean the credit card thing, not the ukelele.

No fear. My mum would never give me any kind of credit card.

Good that it’s all sorted, kinda. I can’t make Blogger Meetup on Thursday, as I have to work at the Sydney Writers Festival. After Meetup why don’t you guys come over to the Wharf? We’re doing a fabbo broadcast with great writers and fab music.

Yeeeeeah, I bought a ukelele earlier this year and had a similar experience. It’s useless, goes out of tune faster than you can pluck the thing.

Hey, glad to hear you got your wallet back and that’s all sorted.
Also, a ukelele?

Ross - you could do a Hawaiian singing teacher thing…
Nails - she’s a smart woman, knowing your credit history :)
Tomas - They told me to come back when the manager was there, so I gave it another go and I’m happier with it now. Seems to stay in tune ok, and the intonation problems matter less if you only play open chords.
Becky - It’s easy on the fingers, sounds groovy, and most importantly it’s a challenge because the chord shapes are different to a guitar.

Oh, hey, what happened to the cash only society with bread rolls to barter with? Is that all gone?

Is there such a thing as an expensive uke?
Comment by Clare — Wednesday May 30 2007 @ 7:33 am
Can you sing along with the uke in a sexy high falsetto voice?

I thought Mark did everything with a sexy high falsetto voice.

Switch - EFTPOS rules. Loose change sucks. Bread rolls get dirty too easily.
Clare - Yeah, well it’s all relative.
JW - Sadly no. Wait - I mean *thankfully* no.
Shelley - No! I am manly and gruff!

*disappointed*

You should learn to play rainbow connection on your uke. That would be hawt! lol.

Oh it WOULD! Good idea!

Actually, I was going to learn The Monster Mash first… I think that’s almost as hawt.
