1. What’s something you were into before it became popular?

Blogging, but only by about six months.

2. What’s something you were reluctant to jump on the bandwagon with, but now are totally into?

Buffy. I was such a retard.

3. What’s a current trend or fad you just don’t get?

I don’t get Harry Potter. Anime fandom is neat, but HP is just too commercial and the books aren’t even that good.

4. If you could turn any current fondness of yours into a popular trend, what would it be?

Higher education.

5. What’s something that’s totally uncool that you love anyway?

T.S Eliot. No, fuck it, T.S. Eliot *is* cool. How about Garden State?

  2. Strawberry snacks? Wow, they look very cool. Are they a Cabramatta supermarket thing?

  3. #5 should totally have included my blog.

Also, I’ve seen those biscuits in Woolworths in Marrickville Metro.

  4. Oh.

Well, I guess I have to call our wedding off now after the Harry Potter comment.

    Shame.

  5. I totally got sucked into buffy too! It’s hella addictive. The guys at the residential home I worked at were into it because they thought sarah michelle gellar was hot, so I got to watch it every morning.

    That and charmed.

Those biscuits are similar to a treat I used to love as a kid, they were the exact same thing except with chocolate filling and they were called koala yummies. Sadly, no one seems to remember them but me.

  6. I believe that there’s a chocolate version available, Julia.

  7. I’ve resisted watching Buffy, and I don’t know why. My cousin raved about it when it first came on and my last roommate kept telling me how good and addictive it was, and that he too was skeptical but now thought it was the awesomest. I’m sure that I too will be sucked in, and I could easily rent the dvds and get caught up in a tidy amount of time, but I just haven’t. Point of all this? No idea, guess I just like being difficult sometimes.

  8. Amanda - On what evidence? That looks like Japanese and Chinese on the box…

James - yeah, but hopelessly out of date. They looked pretty gross really.

    Nails - No, U R kewlz!

Lucy - Well if you can’t get over something that small it probably wasn’t going to work out anyway. Do summarise the plot for me, tho :)

Julia - Charmed? And the reason you haven’t gouged out yr eyes yet is what?

Becky - There are 7 seasons, you know. It takes pretty much a whole week to watch them, or several months if you have a life. Not that that’s a bad thing - I wish there were 7 seasons of Firefly to watch, and Buffy is almost as good.

  9. On the evidence that I worked in Korea and devoured weirdo Lotte snacks like they were going out of business and they are a Korean company. In particular I draw your attention to the chocolate mushrooms which are a particular fave.

Oh well now I google I see they have a big presence in Japan too so perhaps that is Japanese on the box but it is not often my shiftless life produces any fruit. Please don’t take it away from me this time.

  10. I’m with you on the Harry Potter thing, sort of. I’ve never read the books, but have seen all the movies. Pretty average stuff, hey.

    Comment by Mish — Thursday June 21 2007 @ 7:04 pm

  11. They come in chocolate? I must find some! Thanks nails! =)

Mark, I’d rather watch charmed than chuck norris any day!

    Comment by Julia — Thursday June 21 2007 @ 10:13 pm

  12. Amanda - There is some Japanese on the box, but it might be a mix of Japanese and Korean or Chinese. In either case, you totally had me impressed.

Mish - I was into GI Joes as a kid so I can’t really complain about what kids like, but there are plenty more interesting books to read if you’re an adult than HP. I’m also annoyed that fantasy is the new sci-fi. I think there’s a post topic in that actually…

Julia - Oh Chuck Norris is after you now. Bigtime.

  13. What if we could get Chuck Norris to fight the chicks from Charmed? Yes? No?

    Comment by Becky — Friday June 22 2007 @ 4:39 pm

  14. No, Chuck Norris needs to fight Bruce Willis. Surrounded by explosions and the song “America Fuck Yeah!” playing in the background.

    =P

    Comment by Julia — Saturday June 23 2007 @ 4:13 am

  15. Throw in Schwartzenegger, Harrison Ford, and Sylvester Stalone too and it could be the “Ultimate Past Their Prime Cage Match (now w/ 50% more tasty explosions)!!!”

    Comment by Becky — Saturday June 23 2007 @ 10:14 am

  16. I second Julia’s plan, I would pay to see that.

    And a Harry Potter synopsis?

Boy wizard is possible saviour of the world from evil wizard Voldemort.

Good vs Evil. Love and hate etc etc.

But they are awesome books Mark. We should do a Harry Potter book club.

(And stop stalking me at gbe, you know you if you went the way of gbe I’d probably have to quit)

    Comment by Lucy — Saturday June 23 2007 @ 5:58 pm

  17. But, Lucy, you have to understand that Mark spent his teenage years playing with Dick Smith kits…there’s just something not right with the boy.

Also, could everyone stop talking about quitting. I’m getting a bit sick of my other stalkees and would rather if you guys just kept on keeping on.

  18. *shakes head in dismay*

The ghost of Chuck Norris will haunt you all.
