I’m now going to be speaking at the Tactics of Resistance: Limitations & Possibilities conference, in addition to the conference of the Association for Political Theory. Yep. I am officially a conference whore.

I think keeping old ones is totally fine, but when you make the effort to make your own (and I know someone who actually does this even though his own form of ID is often declined as conference ID), it starts to get a bit intense.

That picture brings a tear to my eye. The kind of tear that native peoples make when they see a giant, stinking pile of various crumpled plastics in the forest.

I was just saying that I hate when you learn someone’s real height/see them for the first time and it totally screws up you mental image of them.

Yeah, I always have wildly inaccurate mental images of people. So, FYI, I am about 173cm. So is that about five foot eight or something in imperials? A little bit below average for a guy or, as I have learned, a little bit above average if you live in an asian neighbourhood.

You’re taller than me, which makes you awesome. At 4′10″, I am far safer than the average 5′10″ Joe if someone throws an anvil into a crowd. 5ft tall? Never broke it - haha! - never will!
