I’m going away on Tuesday (Ontario and Ohio, for a couple of politics conferences) so I won’t update for a while. I’ll be back on October 28.
Below are some interesting things that you can look at while I’m gone. First, there is a meme I have nicked from the lovely Misha. Second, there are some pictures. And in the previous post, if you are bored, are some poems about foxes.

When was the last time:
1. a restaurant was out of the food you wanted?
This has never happened to me. It’s because I always order the pad thai, ie. the blandest thing on the menu, and they always have it. It’s my way, baby.
2. you were dumped/divorced by a significant other/spouse?
Well that depends on who you ask. If you ask Pippa, it was 2001. If you ask me it was never.
3. you were denied a promotion?
I have never been eligible for promotion. I guess getting my first publication would be a kind of promotion though, and my most recent rejection note was, um… January-ish.
4. you didn’t get the job you applied for?
So the last job I was denied would have been some crap retail thing when I was handing out resumes as an undergrad in 2004. It’s not a big deal. My life is sounding pretty sweet right now, isn’t it? I might add that I was turned down for a couple of scholarships in Melbourne in 2005, and that sucked majorly because I have family in Melbourne but not in Sydney.
5. a friend cancelled a lunch date (or other meeting) on you?
That would be May, when the lovely Misha asked me to the movies. Or was it when she was going to drop off some review cds? Fuck, I don’t think she likes me. Why am I doing her meme?
6. someone took credit for something YOU did?
Ha. That would be two years ago, when Tomas took some of the songs we wrote / recorded together and turned them into his own songs with ‘feat. Mark Kingston’ in small print. He’s a good friend, but blatantly ruthless when it comes to his career as a rock star.
7. an appliance (or something in your home) broke?
My toaster, in July. It was the second one to die in quick succession and I haven’t bought a replacement. I need toast so badly right now.
8. you were denied something credit-related? (loan, credit card, a rental, etc.)
I’ve never used credit. It’s mostly because I have never had a flash car.
Well, that’s it. Email me if you want me to bring you back something :)

Argh, my bad Marko. Want to go see a movie soonish? When there is something decent on, that is? And the CDs, christ. I don’t think any of them will be put up on the web unfortunately, but you can have them if you want some extra random cds in your collection.

It’s not a huge deal. You are just the weaselyest of a not-very-weasely bunch.
Screw random cds. They’re never that good.

I hate movies that make me think and/or worry. I think and/or worry enough already, thankyou. I’ll find one with boobs or big explosions or Ben Affleck and see if she wants to see that instead.

I was only teasing. John Pilger almost put me to sleep.
Have an awesome trip.

Shelley & James - Thanks :) Boring conferences aside, it should be cool.

I sent you a fairy with Charles II hair. It somewhat lacks total awesomeness.

Yay! Viva la trip! Have fun! Take lots of nanna-blog photos of clouds and mooses. We love those. :)
Yours in ruthlessness,
