Sunday November 11 2007

Today I went out and met Misha at the Newtown Festival. It was full of hippies and shirtless Aussies and just a couple of emo kids. And also some dogs. The bands were crap but we had a good time anyway. We saw Hugh McKay say wise things about today’s society in his moderately left-leaning paternal way, and almost saw some of the Chaser guys through a big crowd of frenzied fans. We also met up with Shelley, who is very nice and not nearly as crazy as she makes out on the internet.

Er, that’s it.

  1. He he. I turned it around and managed three schooners. I am so proud. Turns out that hair of the dog -a dog, any dog - really does the trick for me. I felt much better after beer.

Also, I do not make out that I am crazy on the internet!

  3. Shelley - You don’t make out that you’re crayz? What is the title of your blog again?

Glen - Yeah, I don’t know any cool kids but I’ll come to your party if you tell me when it is.

  4. I feel terribly neurotic today.

You may not remember this but the blog used to be called ‘nailpolishblues’ - up until I, um, did something stupid/rude/somewhat cruel to someone whilst drunk - I did apologise and they told me that they ought to have expected it given how neurotic I am. I did try to defend myself before discovering that I did, in fact, tick a few too many of those boxes to be truly comfortable. Naturally, I renamed my blog as a defence. Yes, I am such a girl.

I bet anything that Glen times his party so that I cannot attend.

  5. You work nights, don’t you? So the odds *are* pretty slim.

  6. I finish at eight. What I meant though is that I bet he times it for when my parents are here and I am being their dear devoted daughter and unavailable for social events.

  7. My shoulders are still sunburnt. I saw so many people I knew at that fest, and we all agree - the festival was much cooler in the morning.

I got to push a few hippies so I am happy :)
