ANZ: banking with ‘more.’ More whores, that is!

Has anyone seen the ANZ Bank ad with the multiple cloned hot chicks all doing their banking in unison? I thought ‘hey the song to this ad is pretty cool, I should d/l it’ so I did. It’s ‘More’ by The Tellers. But it turns out that rather than being a happy ditty about how great it is to keep your dough in a bank that truly cares about its customers (and is willing to clone hot chicks to prove it) it’s a song about how the dude’s girlfriend is a whore. Yup, they put the word ‘whore’ in an ad. Just we zoom in on the hot chick’s face - “I’d die for you, you little whore.”

It reminds me of the Subaru ad with Peaches and Iggy Pop, but at least they left out the lyrics about self-mutilation, sex toys and the virtues of abundant pubic hair. Not that I hate either of those songs. It’s just a bit wrong to use sexist swear words in tv ads!

  1. Aw, there’s a voiceover covering up the whore bit, damn it. It reminds me of that Bonds ad, where there was a song in Spanish and it turns out that the translation was something obscene.

    Oh, here we go!

  2. The voice over doesn’t completely cover the ‘whore’ it’s just that the singer’s pronunciation is really bad and it sounds like “uwuh.”

Wikkid Bonds ad. I always wondered what that song was about.
