Making a list, he is.

So I lewted a few things this Christmas. Underpants, a first aid kit, a doorstop shaped like a frog. Some fruitcake in a tin. It was all pretty good. My favourite thing is a figurine of Alyson Hannigan as Willow, circa season 5 of Buffy. It has a creepy smile. I have a lot of chocolate left over, and if you want some come over and get it because I’m trying to cut way back on chocolate this year.

On the day in question I went round to my Mum’s place and sat in a chair whining about my hayfever while she made lunch. In my defense, this year has been horrible for hayfever for some reason. After lunch, my aunt and uncle came over. Then I went round and played PS3 with Chris. Chris has to leave for another two weeks working in some shitty mining camp in the middle of the NT today, but when he comes home his new house will be ready, which is sweet.

After that, my Mum and I sat around looking at Roflrazzi’s Star Trek pictures. It was an OK Christmas.

(note to self. make next post more optimistic and less cranky.)

Lately I’ve been working a lot. It’s Christmas and everyone wants drinks. Or at least they’re supposed to. It’s actually been quite quiet. But anyway, I have discovered something about my job that I didn’t really expect. It’s boring. I mean SO. BORING. And not like “read a book” boring, because that would be fun. Like “stand behind the counter and scan items for eight hours” boring. I never considered quitting a job purely based on boredom before, but now I fantasise about it all the time. Seriously, how can people do retail? It’s just the same thing over and over.

I’m now looking forward to teaching more than ever. It’s hard, and unlike dispensing drinks you get no thanks for it, but at least it’s interesting.

Anyway, in other news, I have lots of money.

Lately:

I’ve been working out how to use my new keyboard. It makes some pretty great sounds and I can even sort of play it properly, which is weird. I started this song in A minor and went to a D minor chord, then suddenly I hit A# major and it was all like ‘WHOA KEY CHANGE BUT NOT REALLY.’ It even sounded good and everything. I’m still a bit stuck on what sort of music to actually play on it, but I have a few ideas.

Oh, and I took out some books on poetry because I was all like ‘what’s that about hey?’ It seems pretty cool, although complicated also.

And my lame job at the bottle-o isn’t as lame as it could be. I still have to wear a comically over-sized uniform and pretend to care about wine, but I can relax a bit because (like everyone else in the organisation) I have given up trying to do things properly.

OK, now I got to call the blood bank because I got some to spare. Y’all have a good day now.
